I just blew out the inner splines on my torsion housing. I have new spines coming and will weld them in regardless. The buggy is a warrior chassis with a Ford 2.3 Turbo engine and 6 rib. I also have 2x3 arms with type 4 joints. The current torsion bars I have are 28mm. I also just got a set of Fox 10" Air shocks. My question is this:
Would you run the torsions with regular shocks
Run just the Air shocks
Run the Air shocks with the torsions(low pressure in the air shocks)
The more opinions the better!
I am actually leaning towards running both the torsion and air shocks. Is this good?

depending on what kind of riding u want to do, and from your setup it sounds serious. i would run the bars and the air shocks. just get the preload on the torsions bars set properly. don't get it real stiff and then adjust your ride with the shocks. i just put 27 mm bars in my rail and had to tear it apart multiple times and drive it on trails to get the ride that i wanted. i put too much preload on the bars the first time and it rode like a pogo stick. hope this helps.

I'd definately run both and then just use the airshock to give you a nice progressive rate to keep it away from the bumpstops, that way you're going to have a lot less heat and fade in the dampers.
Keep the preload on the bars down to a minimum as you can adjust that up with the pressure in the damper if need be.

Before I eliminated my torsion bars I ran both with the torsions slid in with no preload. I liked it just fine that way. I would still run it that way but I needed to adjust my toe in my rear wheels so I did the eliminators so I could have some adjustment. My toe was off because of my poor fabricating skills.
