I’m trying to find out what this chasse is? Also does anybody think I need extra roof bracing or any other bracing? (Trying not to kill the girlfriend or my self ) I will be beating the crap out of it in Wellsville. Possible more places after Wellsville approved. Thanks.

      That frame has had a lot of changes made to it. I have seen the engine cage before but I cant recall the frame. Its not a Berrien since the rear down bars dont have enough bend in them where they pass the header. Berriens are about 70 degree bends. Its also wider in the passenger compartment & Ive never seen one tied in at the torsion shock mount with 1" tubing before. I bet thats a dead giveaway to the maker but I cant place it. |

kinda looks like the old champion frames with alot of extra bracing in it,couldnt really see the bottom front bars but do they curve up just a little to the front beam.only thing i think i would add is a windsheild support to keep it from collapsing back on you if youd hit up side down on the front.look at plumberbills and you will see what im talking about.chad

The seats are also against the torsion. Its not any of the older sand rail makers either. Ive seen that engine enclosure before & its driving me nuts trying to remember who built that. |

That’s not so bad I can handle that. If went from top of windshield frame to lower part windshield frame would that be sufficient? Really can’t go to the floor with the brace. The cutter and other controls are below the lower windshield frame. I know the idea is to take to the floor but that means a lot of re-fabricating. |

You may want to improve the x-brace behind the seats. you want it to go from where the rear of the roof ends to the where the torsion is welded to the bottom tubes (as wide as you can get it). Usually its hard to make it work right in a buggy thats already built cuz you have too much stuff in the way, but anything you can do here is gonna be good. Another good one is the "race brace" or the front x-brace. In a perfect world it should go from where the bottom windsheild frame meets the roof bars to the oppisite side where the beam clamps to the frame. most buggies have a cross bar where they intersect. you dont want to leave a gap between them there as the frame alot of times will crack there. Just my 2-cents!
