Got it done. Thanks Shaun for the outstanding service. Running cool now. Maybe a bit too cool. Lol I wired in a switch too so I can shut the fans down if I like. Ill send you my ecm in a couple months to change the temp to around 210 on the fans.

I'm guessing that like a true water pumper you've installed a water temp gauge. What temp does the fan turn on and what temp does it shut off, the differential?

Well right now the fans are set to stay on all the time but they can be set to come on whenever you like. I think Shaun at Alpha Fab said he'd set it to 200 degrees. Not sure when it'll go off.

I think it was like $300 with the fans. Fits good in my car. Ill let you know how it works after it running.

Hey Douglas, I found this forum the same way you did. Looking to swap out my 2276 in my sandrail. I was just in Glamis this past weekend for 5 days. I stay over at Keyhole or around Wash 16 depending on who I go with.

Anyways, can you help me out and shear with me where you ordered your radiator from? Thanks

1 Fan should be wired directly to the key switch and run at all times. I tried the fancy temp. gadgets, fuses and relays. Mud, sand, tree saplings, water in relays and many other oh yeahs and ah dammits will burn a motor up fast. Aluminum heads on a cast iron block is more forgiving because the block holds the head's shape. Aluminum on aluminum warps and blows gaskets so I'm told by the head shop. Just trying to help. And those Sun Pro gauges at Auto Zone are junk. And as always , have a burp port at your highest water point( if your rad. is mounted down lower). Like a hose, head etc.. Trapped steam will push your good water out on the ground thru your reservoir bottle. The more the good water is pushed out, the more of a steam pocket you will keep building and it will run dry fast. I have to burp my Buick after warm up after sitting for a week. One mile and it will puke itself dry. AND water pumps can't pump steam.

I think you have a trapped air problem Passat. Hot air, no seriously I have never had an issue with my Honda engine and jeep radiator

Red Baron. lol. If you cross creeks, run thru the briars and branches, AND ride EVERY sat and sun, you will get your share of problems. And. If your rad. is mounted lower, air that gets in the system from where ever, WILL find its way to the top, in a hose, thermostat housing, head chamber, somewhere, create steam and push water out on the ground. I type this stuff to educate the new guys. I had to toast motors to learn this. A radiator cap located above the motor is fine because it will catch the air that enters the system. If the motor is higher, you need a burp port. Some people say, Gee, my motor just don't seem to run as cool". Steam in a head cools nothing and water pumps can't pump steam.

Yeah your right I don't know what I'm talking about. I just have an expansion tank that is higher than the engine a natural burp point ah a novel idea especially sine water and pressure will also expel fluid

I got the fans off ebay. Jeep Cherokee aluminum radiator with electric fans. There were several. I got these mostly because the fans weren't held on by straps ran through the fins of the radiator but has a mounting piece of sheet aluminum. I have seen the exact setup for up to $500. I kept looking and looking and finally came across this setup. Seems like it may have $300 plus shipping.
