Alright everyone relax. I don't know about all that best fabricator stuff, Racebugg1098 has a real good grip on the fabrication thing and he would get my vote. There are a bunch of talented folks here, mine seems to be what everyone wants to see. So more eye candy coming soon.

The build is looking great! I was browsing EBAY and came across a Funco Buggy I thought you should see. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AWESOME- ... ails#v4-37

I noticed they took a real good side view of the air bag in the rear and this one looks like it has some sort of a stabilizer to the frame from the lower pivot of the bag. Funco's site did not offer a view from this angle to see if they are all like that. Maybe I am telling you something you already know, but I figured it was worth a mention. Can't wait to see more.

Good eye, I did notice that. I'm guessing the reason for the stabilizer is because the long distance from the tubular trailing arm to the bag pivot. The stabilizer holds the bottom bag plate in that position through out the travel. Tried to find more photos of the Funco airbag set up, can't seem to find many.

Don't really care for the frame on that new 4seater funco.and the $83,000 price tag.holy bat crap,I wish I had 83 grand to build a woods buggy.I'd spend 20 grand tops and then buy a new truck and trailer to pull it.lol.Chad :mrgreen:

if the stabilizer holds the plate stationary then wouldnt it defete the purpose of a rotational bottom mount? im just asking? a rotational bottom mount allows the bag to stay square with the movement of the arm? or am i thinking wrong???

As the trailing arm cycles the stabilizer keeps the mount in parallel with the bag. The mount is pivoting.

These were the coil-over shocks that I've had for sale that no one wants, or should I say I didn't want to give away. All I need to buy now are springs, somewhere around $320. To use the bags I still need shocks, $460 worth. And I do like the way they look if nothing else. I can use the bags on the trailer :idea:

I do love my bags,,today I was filling my radiator and dropped one side of the buggy down with the bags to allow the coolant to fill the upper radiator hose easier,,and when I was putting the engine back on it was easy to align the bolts with the use of the bags,,but them coilovers look cool

I'd run the bags and mount the coil over for just a shock, then if for some reason you don't like the bags, you can just add springs. I originally wanted to run bags and bypass shocks on the back of my race buggy, but chickened out. I do plan on putting bags on my woods buggy in the future :mrgreen:

I like the idea that is on the table fo running both. I would run the bags on the inside of the coil's this way the force should be more on the coil's ... I dont know my two cents...I am still reading more on the bagged buggies...a lil different from what i know of bagged rides here around town where they have a goal to scrape the reflectors off the road, not to be tall...

Not enough room to run both. The spot on the arm where the coil over is sitting is at 9" of travel on the arm. Both the bag and the shock have a 10" stroke so both would have to live at the same place, not enough room.
There is no doubt about liking the air bags from first hand experience so doing both is kinda pointless. The coil overs I had on the front of my other car were unreal in handling and all that, I'm thinking on doing this all different than the last one. When I get both arms done I will look at it and decide which to do. Coil overs are the way I'm leaning right now.
