12 (U)- Rules
Unlimited motor, 4 cylinder, V6, V8, or rotary engine. Unlimited carburetors, fuel injection, superchargers, turbochargers.
The drivers of these vehicles must be honorable and tell the size of their motor to the Tech Director. If the drivers are not HONEST about engine size they will be disqualified, will forfeit any prize money, and will loose their points for the day. If a driver is found guilty of racing a car illegally for several races they will loose all their points for the year, will be disqualified, forfeit prizes and may be banned. PLEASE, lets be fair to all of our fellow drivers and conduct ourselves in a professional and sportsman like manner.
All drivers must have a helmet. It must be DOT rated and SNELL approved , if open face helmet you must have eye protection. Head and neck restraint is strongly recommended. Long sleeves shirt, long pants, and boots are mandatory unless your wearing a fire suit.
Seat belts- Minimum 4 point seat belts, 3 inch lap and shoulder. Antisubmarine (crotch strap) is recommended. Belts must be in good condition.
Fire extinguisher is mandatory. 2 ½ lbs. of 1-A, 5-B, underwriters laboratory rating or better.
Window nets OR arm restraints is mandatory. Nets shall cover the complete open area of drivers side. If you have a co-driver, nets should cover the complete open area of the passenger side. Single seat car: both sides. If using arm restraints, driver and passenger must wear them.
Number plate: Each vehicle shall carry a number plate on top, that is visible from each side, starting with 12 then your own 2 digit number. 9” tall and 1” wide black letters with white background. 1 on the rear 6” tall and 1” wide black letters with white background.
Brakes: Vehicles must have minimum of 2 operating rear brakes and brake lights. Front brakes are recommended.
Fuel tanks must be in good condition and free of leaks. Fire suppressant foam and rollover valves are recommended.
DOT tires only
Batteries must be securely mounted. All wet-cell batteries must be fully enclosed.
All vehicles must be well built, maintain, wheels tight, no loose items in vehicle. This will be decided by the Tech Inspector for your safety and the safety of your fellow racers.
NOTE: All woods buggy classes will be raced together but scored separately unless we receive too many entries or the race director needs to make changes.
