This is what I have so far. It's a universal air filter from autozone and 3 in pvc pipe. The filter will be tucked up pretty high in the frame. I'm hoping it will work good.

X2 with mike. K&n filters are designed to to flow more. How do they flow better?? Larger spaced filter media. More flow=more trash. We ran them on our super late models but cleaned and oil them every week and had a spare to swap out between races. |

Cyclone style double filter from a ford tractor. Similar to what comes in any industrial mower but bigger. Available in many sizes and easy to find and get filters for. Nothing gets through these filters. |

I have been running the K&N with this sock http://www.knfilters.com/search/wrap.aspx for at least 3 years trouble free. May not be the best but then again I run a cheap water cooled engine. Huey |

We ran them on the sprint cars only because there wasn't much of a selection for the Kinsler or Hillborn mechanical fuel injections. Ours too were cleaned and oiled every week which didn't really matter for us, we had to rebuilt our engines every 5 race nights, if you didn't, you were driving a 750hp hand grenade by race 7 or 8. |

I put a new small block chevy in my Jeep rock crawler last year. I also have used K&N filters for a long time, always using a prefilter over the oiled filter. My local speed shop owner suggested trying an R2C dry filter. IMO...Absolutely the best offroad filter I have ever used! No dirt passes thru and just blow it out, and your back in business. http://www.r2cperformance.com/ |

Like Huey I'm running a cheaper water cooled motor. I just picked this buggy up a few weeks ago and am trying to get some of the small things taken care of before moving on to the bigger things.
