I am upgrading my rear brakes and have seen some rotors cross drilled,,Who has done this? How did you get the pattern,,,what size holes? Are they braking better,,or are they cracking?

I did mine years ago, just used a magic marker to lay out the lines in a swirl pattern for 3 rows of holes.
It helped some, but what really helped was mounting calipers off a 87 suby front that had emergency brakes, and pads 4" long. I like having my emergency brake, makes me worry less.

Just a thought, would the holes in the disks capture and hold mud.. Causing more wear on the pads..

You want directional slots. Holes just cut wieght and look cool.

Holes do indeed just trap mud, you want these:

We've used 'em over here for years, scrapes all the mud and water off the pads + discs without the risc of cracking under heavy braking.
