okay im not sure what rear set up i have so here is a pic

now i was thinkin a rear disk kit from apple tree, i found one on ebay

if you cant see in the pic the drum now is a five lug and would liek to keep that. what yall think?

Is it 5 lug vw (wide 5) or ford/gm? Looks like a wheel adapter in the pic.

Your link is for wide 5 vw. That set-up will work for you set-up. to keep the same wheel make sure what lug pattern you have. My guess from your pic is you have 4 lug vw with wheel adapters to 5 lug gm or ford.

yeah it looks like i have an adapter. would i have to get a new one or scrap the rims

if u buy that kit you will prob need new wheel adapters, instigater a member on here makes some nice ones or you can keep shopping for the same kit with a 4 lug pattern and run the adapters you have

they make make disk brake kits just like that with the 4 lug vw pattern and just use the same adapters you already have would be my suggestion if you dont want to buy new wheels

Get the 4-lug rotors, those 5-lug ones dont last as long, part of the spline seems to crack and you cant get the slop out of em, but the 4-lug doesn't have that problem

You can buy disc setup with that bolt pattern ford chevy what ever you want.the ones in the picture are really not good for off road (abuse).I have never liked running that type of adapter for off road.if you have wide 5 vw front rims then I'd buy the same disc set up.if they are 4 lug then I'd buy 4 lug disc.I have limped home with a front tire on the back before.you can't do that with different bolt patterns.you get what you pay for also,cheap sets are cheap for a reason.you should be able to find a set of 4 lug or wide 5 rims pretty easy on here.if you plan to go to the beadlocks like most of us run I would go 4 lug disc set up and get adapters from instigator.you have a lot more options with the 4 lug pattern as far as rims go also at a better price usually too.Chad
