Well, if I want to offset grind the stock crank that I have, could I weld( with a regular welder) the outside of the journals and then go to the machine shop and regrind the crank to stock rods?? The price of a 74mm crank is a little to high for me(I'm cheap) so could this be or am I way off base?? Thanks Dave ( doing an upright conversion)T

Most shops like to grind to a smaller journal . But some will weld & grind . I dont no of a shop that will grind after some body welds by hand They have a machine
