What does a vanagon front end look like. kp or bj? I've seen some bus front ends that are just huge

Vanagon started in 1980 and used ball joints on an A-arm type front suspension. The vw bus had linkpin up till about 1967, then had ball joint from 68 to 79,,,,,,I think. I use a ball joint bus front end with lots of modifications. Mine is about as wide as a 6" over bug beam :?
