I'd like to know how he got the turbo to spool up before taking off. Did he have a trans brake?

I was told it did have a transbrake... I asked the same question. Ive tried to get mine to spool up some by holding the cutting brake and burning the clutch a little. I was still in the neg psi when I launched....

I read a little about retarding the ignition timing along with rev limiting to get a turbo to spool up but it causes the exhaust side of the turbo to get really hot. This is all done with a switch that activates the anti-lag until the turbo is spooled and then the switch is released.

Well I know on mine without a good load on the motor it will never spool. Rev limiter or not. I have one of those too. If you bounced limited without car moving it still wouldn't build anyyyy boost.

If you retard the ignition timing to say 20 degrees after TDC and rev limit the engine it will spool up. The engine is now loaded because the timing is retarded so far and can't make any power.
