I pulled my 1915 apart the other day to freshin it up & found that the heads were cracked around the inside of the cut for the jugs. All four holes for the cylinders are cracked from one side to the other. I was told that as long as my jugs were seated correctly & the heads were torqued properly that it was ok & that it was normall for stock heads that were punched out to 94mm to do this. This is all coming from a guy who's been in business around here for more than 30 years. My question is: Is this correct or B.S.?
And also what recomendations would you all recomend for these heads i.e. porting, springs etc.?
I am in the process of building another motor but due to my budget as of now & the after market heads im going to purchase it is not feasable to get the after market heads for my current engine. Thanks to all who can help.
Just tryin to make it through the rest of riding season. Jamie
