Gene Berg is making a kit to convert the typicall 4 speed bus to a 5 speed. Anyone need low gearing and a highway gear for anything? I can see it in the desert where you can run it out but not in the woods, looks cool though!

That's BADASS! Since it is from Berg I figured it would be twice that high, too.
Just imagine .... 150 mph woodsbuggy!

Unless the gearing has an overdrive it would still not be any faster than a standard 4 speed. The 5 speeds basically divide the gears into 5 rather than 4 ratios.

I hope when I grow up I'm as smart as you.

How do you know its NOT an overdrive? Geez.

The Berg type I 5 speeds are available as overdrive, so were the Doug Nash. And I'm sure anybody on here with a half brain knows that top speed depends on the gearing available or requested. You arent the only person around with a little know-how.

I was freakin playin' anyways. (See the laughing Emoticon?) I aint buyin one, and nobody on here with a real WOODSbuggy probably will either.

You ever been called a party pooper? This about the 3rd or 4th time you have responded like this to something I was goofin around about. I should have just ignored it like usual, I guess, but its getting old.
Gimme a break.

Sorry Larry, I guess I'm too technical for my own good sometimes! I don't mean to be, its just my nature. Probably due to my engineering back ground. Really don't want to be a party pooper.

Right.
It is in a 3-rib case but it's a side shift and has that "DM" code stamped into it.
Bellhousing has more ribbing on the bottom IIRC too.

That makes alot of sense, I don't like the way it operates either, I just hate to go through 5000 things of one kind of item just to find the right and/or good one.
