I didn't have room between the motor and rear cage for a radiator. Where it's at should be ok

Hi Newbie,
I have my rad in the same spot.
It cools very well there. My fans hardly ever come on and only do when I'm not moving.
The only bad thing about this location is you will feel the heat coming from the rad when you are stopped or going slow and It does block some rearward vision.
I'm now looking at the space behind my engine were my muffler is at now.
I like madmikes setup or something similar.
I worry about stuff coming off the rear tires and hitting it and also it being as efficient being out of the air flow.

Big radiators like yours seem to be used more for 6 or 8 cylinder motors like we see on desert racers, mud boggers and tractor pulls. Any vehicle that has air-conditioning also requires a bigger radiator.
My next Subaru off road buggy will probably have one or two small motorcycle radiators and an oil cooler. Each cooler will be mounted behind the seats for protection from rocks and mud but will be slightly higher than the water level in the engine.
Fresh air will be ducted to the radiators and each will have a thermostatically-controlled fan as well as a manual override switch (for hot summer days). Large diameter aluminum tubing will serve as manifolds to deliver coolant to and from the radiator(s). The tubing will be the same diameter as the original stock.
With undersized radiators, cleanliness is super-critical. Air-conditioning coil cleaner will keep the radiator fins clean and heat conductive:
