Thanks, both of y'all.
buggy66 ,
The buggy I'd like to do something like this to already has a 6 rib in it, so its already set up for bus. Does this conversion push motor further to rear of buggy? Its just been powdercoated, and aint a whole lot of room between stinger and rear of cage already. Its a 10:1 5.5" rod 2276 w' dual dell 40's, 31" diggers.

So actually the only thing autostick about it is the clutch/converter assembly?

And you can sit on a hill w/ your foot on the brake, tranny in gear, and just hit the gas and release brake and it goes? My wife's only gripe w/ manual is shes worried about taking off in the middle of a hill, while trying to hold brakes. Doesnt wanna roll back, kill it, blah blah blah.

John,
Hope you guys have a Merry Christmas, too. Hope I can get wifes buggy up and going early spring, so theres a seat for my little one. He wont go riding unless he thinks Tylers gonna be there!!

Larry

I want to say it moves the eng back almost 3 inch. If you have tri mill exhaust coming up in rear of eng like most of do / you could make change there? The guys I ride with run a one piece adapter and cost somewhere around 400.00 I used to know of a used one for half that. I have some of the parts for auto sticks but not everything. 423/612/9619 Mark

Went back to work today! Got nothing done, but cleaning up around work area. Did get steering arms {made with 3/4" heims and 1" tubing} painted today> Am hoping to get pitman arm made tomarrow! Also hope to get hi-lift jack mounted. I am going to mount a solid bar on the side of frame --to help move the big rocks into possition when climbing. It might be over kill- but noone ever has the things you need on the trail! I will let you know how it goes as I make progress. Mark

You can see that the frame will be black. In the background you can see a large plastic panel that is blue -that will be the side body peices.

This pic is of the skid plate laying on front tire and waiting to do final cut at the last tack weld where cross bar is. Looks heavy -huh! I like to over think and over build sometimes!

Very nice :D We could have used a plate like that a few years ago, would have saved an engine when the push rod tubes got tore out  . Dave T

I took a stock S10 pitman arm -cut the tie rod end off - cut a piece of 3/4" steel plate the shape needed to fit heims and fitted it to the pitman arm - them welded. It seams like it will work fine.---should be strong enough!

New pics -these are of the brake lines and power steering lines. Also you can see parts of the mat I cut and placed between rails to kept floor pan from sounding like a bell [used 14guage steel sheet metal for floor pan].

How did you couple the hard lines for the power steering to the hoses? I assume a compression fitting.

I did use compression fittings. I am going to try them first. I know the pressure will not be to much but dont know about the heat --should work ok. If it happens to leak I will silver soilder them -then no leak!!! The hard part was bending to fit.
