I don't know avout down there but up here in Pa. if you get caught running offroad the fine is $1100 for every gallon that your tank holds. So if you have a 30 gal. tank with only 10 gal. of offroad in it, you will be fined $33,000.

I'm hoping that this is a good thing, as much as it sucks for everyone. It should bring about some changes. The bigger the demand for an alternative fuel or extremely efficient engine design, the faster it will come about. Hopefully it will be worth it soon.
That's what I try to keep thinking anyway... :?

I reckon we're gonna have to do some more research into the Biofuel thing.......Rock says that it is nasty and it has to be filtered a bunch of times to get the "crunchies" out of it, but that some pal of his says that he makes it for about a buck and a half a gallon.....Then I reckon you'd only be able to fuel up at home unless you had a fuel cell in your truck with a pump......I don't know..... :? Maybe there is a big change coming, but it needs to hurry before everybody goes broke

I still think diesel is more worthwhile. Put it this way in my gas truck I am paying 4.01 a gallon and getting 13mpg. In a diesel you pay 4.50 a gallon and get 20mpg. So it basically takes me 1.5 gallons to get the same mileage as a diesel which in reality means I am paying 7.00 per gallon for gas. Make sense now? hah

I agree, but I think the threat of alt fuels is why big oil co.s keep raising the price. We are on the verge of discovery for some thing non-petroleum based that can be mass produced and widely used , and Big Oil is getting all the $$$ they can, while they can. Even if barrel prices fell to $50 , you think they would lower pump prices? No way. They'd just keep on smiling all the way to the bank.

All this crap the Oil CEOs say about supply and demand driving the barrel prices higher on Wall St. is BS. The demand today is no higher than it was 6 months ago (its actually less), and the supply is no more scarce.

Aint it funny how right about the time the general public begins accepting alt fuels as a viable solution, the tree huggers start saying the processes of refining ethanol, mass producing Hydrogen, and other alt fuels are actually damaging the environment more than petroleum burning vehicles are doing?? Big Oil even has the Greenpeace folks in their pockets!!

The story I hear is that the crude is available, but the refineries are the bottle neck. I think we should build a couple govt owned refineries, w/ federal employees, and it would increase the supply and give them Exxon (and others) bastards a little competition to lower prices.

Greedy mutha-@+$#@%@#$^&*!!!

I was very happy with the truck the way it treated me on the way to Wellsville and back home, I went 535 miles round trip, I only used 27.4 gallons of fuel, I averaged $4.67 between 2 fill-ups, I filled-up before the trip and about halfway back home, I could have went there and back on one tank and still have at least 1/4 tank left, all I pulled is my buggy on the t-trailer. The truck is a 2003 F-350 4x4 ext. cab longbed with a 6.0L diesel and a six-speed tranny.

When I was doing site work I would always dump the old oil from the equipment in my tank. I never went above 50/50 and never had any problems. I have heard of guys running strait oil in a jam.
