I had a 82 fire bird with a 327 and put a muncie 4 speed in it and had problems back then coming up with some way to hook up the arm that runs from the rear end to the transmission. Did you have any issues with that.

best thing to do with the torque arm is pitch it and put a ladder bar or 4-link under it. best motor ive seen in a camaro was destroked 400 small block makes a 373 torque monster. if you plan on launching this thing hard and often id sugest frame tying the hell out of it or a 6 point cage if not it will start to wrinkle and crack behind the windows. your one step ahead of the game with the v6 springs in the front there longer and softer which preloads them more. preload equals more weight transfer to the rear when you launch it. with 400hp and a rear suspension that will hook you should have no problem running in the 10 second range play with your torque converter stall and gear ratio to get the motor to peak as you cross the line you might be able to see high 9s.

sorry i just noticed you dont have a torque converter so my next bit of advice is to sell that t5 and get you a th350 automatics are SO MUCH FASTER. every time you push that clutch your not accelerating an auto on the other hand gives you a burst of acceleration everytime it shifts.
