Since I was young I have wanted to build a Caddy powered car. The 68-69 472 came with 425 hp, and 525 ft. lbs. of torque. There are lots of companies selling aftermarket hi performace parts for these engines.
At long last the engine is in my garage, I also bought the car that its going in. I can't get it till next week. I choose the highly sought after 1978 Impala four door. Just screams speed doesn't it. Anyway I'm excited about it. As soon as the buggy is done the motor is getting rebuilt. the guy in the pic is my brother. He wanted top check out this powerhouse. All he has is a '70 charger.I'll keep you all posted.

That would be fun. I could not do that though. A big part of the fun is the power that you can get from a VW motor. I am aircooled all the way when it comes to offroading. That being said I would LOVE to drive a 425 hp buggy!

you should do that with your buggy. you will be wasting your time trying to go fast in the chevy as long as my charger is on the road.

Remember that. You'll get a chance to prove it. You need to quit watching Dukes Of Hazzard reruns.

Heres a update on my ride. I purchased a 1978 Impala from the original owner. It does not have so much as one rust hole, not even a ding. Looks a little rough from sitting for years. The interior needs a dash pad and new headliner. Other than that its great. I am going to paint it the original color lower it a little, beef up the suspension. Then install the soon to be 600 hp 472 cid Caddy motor and TH 400 trans. My dream sleeper.

Talk about sleeper..........
Leave the stock hubcaps on it, that will really throw them off.

When I get done it will have white walls and hubcaps. The only thing that will be differant as far as the apperance it will be lowered a little. I'm very excited about building this car.

Your donor car looks to be very straight. Should turn out very nice.

That reminds me of my 450 hp S-10 pick up, five shades of primer, fenders waiveing at ya when I went by, snow tires and all. NEVER been beat in it. Ford, Mopar or any rice grinder. Truly one of the baddest sleeper rides I ever had.

These rims would fit it :) People will look at the rims and say WTF and you could smoke them while they watch your teddy bears spin.
