Went to their website a few min's ago and it says "EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY- D&K is now CLOSED to the general public. HOWEVER, Park will be open from time to time, so check the "EVENTS PAGE"often for those dates. "
When did this happen? Maybe it was a while ago and I just wasn't paying attention. Are there any other places close to D & K's in that general area that you can ride at? Thanks!

The cost of insurance was a HUGE part in it. Darrell was ending up having to pay the insurance out of pocket because the park wasn't bringing in enough money to cover it and still make a profit. And yes, the hillclimbs pissed everybody there off too. He still has go-cart racing there every weekend, so he's around on weekends. Rides are by invite only, and are on a "ride at your own risk" basis. So give him a call a week or two ahead of time and he may tell you to have at it. He can't actually charge you to ride since it's not a public park, but leaving a tip is a given. The best place there is to ride, and by far the best people you'll ever meet. Darrell became like a 2nd Dad to me, can't thank him enough for all he did for us.
