Hey all.

After 14 years without a vacation........it's time to get outta here for a few days.
Myself and a few friends are planning a trip to Black Mountain late spring.
Need some info and advice.

The link here says there are a couple trailheads.

People from around these parts who have been there say the best is the Bailey trail head near Evart.
Like to hear some pros and cons of both.

We are looking to trail ride and have a bit of fun.
I think my grandson will be riding with me so doing anything too radical is out of the question.

Like to stay in either cabins or maybe house trailers if available.

Did a bit of searching but didn't find all that much.

Thanks in advance

i always rent houses on the everts side there is food and gas right there and you can drive your buggy on the roads. on the punty side you would have to drive to harlan for food or gas or ride across the mountian.

mixed nuts likes the putney side...nice camping and cabins...stores and restaurants right up the road but not accesable in buggy or quad...and you are literally on the trail when you walk out your door.....evarts has some rentals that you can ride to on quad ,bug or whatever. you can ride anything you want through the town of evarts to go eat,gas up or go to grocery....like stayin in putney and ridin through evarts! both are sweet and have one big bad mountain to ride...awesome place!

Either side is great. There are alot of full furnished houses in Evarts that rent out to off-roaders for a very decent price. I have heard you gotta be careful coming out of the trailhead at Evarts if you been drinking because they sometimes have a cop sitting there. But I been there about 5 times and have never seen anything of the sort.
Cant go wrong with either place, IMO.
