Anyone ever visited hatfield and mccoy trailes in wv? I have and it is a great thing for the state of wv. It keeps the trails clean of trash and junk, also they bring tourist, money, and jobs to the area. The only down fall is they do not permitt buggys on the trails. They have bought ivy branch and are planning to be open fall 2012. I enjoy riding ivy branch but hatfield and mccoy will not allow it.......any ideas

Hatfield-Mccoy trail does not have any width limit that I know of....there are all kinds of Razor S and Razor 900 that roams these trails and they are way wider than 50 inches.

Machine Requirements:
Machines may not be self-constructed or substantially modified from manufacturer’s specifications in the sole opinion of the executive director or designee. What does "Sole opinion of the executive director or designee" Mean?

It sounds to me that you cannot run any "modified" atv or side by side on the trails, I personally have seen people run 4-wheel steering rhinos and razors, souped-up quads and bikes (very loud ones) and even wild exo-skeleton cages on the razors, that to me is beyond "modified"

Just tell them it is not modified from the origional manufactuers specs. Tell them you are the ' Manufactuer " , then show them the specs. to which you have " Manufactured " it. I think their case is full of holes, just like their heads. I once put snowmobile skies on the front of mine, and they could not prove it wasn't a snomobile. They just changed the law to limit the weight. Funny how that didn't take as long, as trying to modify the law to fit the needs of WOODSBUGGIERS ??????????

Please come ride this dream of a place for buggies and rock crawlers and really anything off road, before it's taken away.I have tried for years to get buggies on the trail system when it first started but they modified their rules twice to uliminate us.I live a mile from a trail head and they took all of our trails, said it was for the communities, bull crap if so allow everybody at least somewhere to trail.it's all private land leased to the trail system and they all have a say so to what travels their property.I am going to further try once again to get us in.but can't say it will work.besides can't drink a cold budwieser on the system anyways, lol.but open invite from me going to try and ride it all I can I live few miles away and been riding there close 30 years.my dad was mine superintendent when southern Appalachian moved to Hewitt and shut down.I've been under them mountians and all over the tops to.got some serious climbs that's tucked away over there that's not been climbed in years so come ride with me.Chad
