Is anyone interested in riding the Trans America Trail this coming summer. I am building a new buggy just for this trail and would like to try it out this coming summer by riding at least the Tenn. and Miss. part of the trail. it starts in Jellico, Tenn. Anyone up for it.

The only time that you can ride the complete trail is in July or August because of the snows in the mountains passes of Colorado. The trail starts in Jellico, TN and then snakes its way westward into Mississippi then heads north thru Arkansas and into Oklahoma. From Oklahoma to Colorado and across the Continental Divide into Utah thru the Moah. It then heads into Nevada and westward to the edge of California and then ends at the Ocean in Oregon. It's about 5000 miles and there are a lot of videos on Youtube about it. I would love to ride it on my buggy but all of it will take about a month. Also if you stay with the maps that Sam Correro made, one will need to be able to travel about 200 miles each day between fuel stops. I had a special 20 gal. take made for my buggy just for this trail. What do you'll think?

Even though your buggy may be too wide for the cliff-top trails, you will still have a great time. Turning around mid-trail always sucks.
This trip will require alot of planning, especially if you prepare for rain and flooded trails (4WD with snorkels)
A thread over in the build section can assist with design and checklist(s).
Here is a starter:

That sounds awesome. I would absolutely love that...but probably wouldn't be able to go.

If I ever did a trip like that, I am going with BigD. He carries a small autoparts store with him when he rides.

Lol. I just don't like to be stranded. Getting too old for that.
