I wont have the money till March but I want to put out the feelers for a set of heads that needs nothing other than being cut for the cylinders. Prefer 042 big port or 050's but may be open to any 40x35.5 or 42x37 ported heads as long as they are ready to run. Std. bore to 94mm are all fine. |

What do you want for them? Depending on price I may have enough now. I just cant swing new cost at the moment. |

About the only thing Im going to use is the castings. I was going to use the springs but Ill take your advice there. I got them cheap enough that its worth spending to get them right. I was mainly after the castings because they have some meat on them to port. Ill replace the valves, guides, seats & springs & have Jims custom VW port the hell out of em & counting everything I should end up around 600 or so ready to run, all new parts, ported & flowed. I can live with that. So much for my ready to run idea. Im just glad I didnt cough up 500+ new for em & have your problem. The 042's I bought new about 8 years ago were freakin fantastic. Too bad they went with my rails. |

i got a buddy runnin 042s but he has control over his right foot maybe u guys do also but proud to say that i do not have it that something that i have never had but thats not the point point being that after 25 hours there junk i just expected more than half a season out of them no matter what i did i tore these apart to replace springs not to rebuild heads i guess i should have believed what i read about mofoco in other forums oh well im just trin to save some head aches like i said the 050 castings r good but the valvetrain is not |

Like I said....Thanks to your input Ill replace the the servicable parts just to be on the safe side. I should end up with a decent set of heads when Im done although I really wasnt planning to rework a set. |
