got a buddy looking for firestone 23 degree flotations 31x15.50x15 where can we find them?

Ive got them,$600 a set cut.You can get them 60/40 or 50/50 cut.Im in northern KY.Let me know if interested and i'll PM you my #.

bought mine at craigs tires in east liverpool ohio. last year paid 368 mounted with tax and everything. takes him 1 day to get them in

i emailed firestone awhile back and begged them to make some 4plys,lol.they did reply and said that there was not enough demand for them.if i dig up the email adress of the lady that replyed to me will everybody on here email her even if you dont want a set still if all are members emailed and said theyed buy like 4 or 6 tires maybe thet would make a production run of them.but i got a friend here that has a tire shop and he just started saling firestones so when he gets me a good price on them i will post it.chad.

You get an "A" for effort Chad, but Roy had an inside connection to a pretty important person at Firestone and they said they would make them......if we bought 500 (mite even been 1000?) tires up front at like $215 each or sumthin crazy like that.

But I would still definately write an email and get everyone I work with and everyone my wife works with and her kajillion facebook friends and everyone in my family to do the same if I thought they would make us some more without wanting $100,000 up front. Maybe someone new is in charge at Firestone? Couldnt hurt.

If you look close at pipedopes tires you can see the outside lugs are longer than the inside. I think that would be considered 60/40



I guess mine would be 50/50?

This is 50/50. about 1" is cut off the middle end of each lug, they overlap at the center by that much before cutting.


60/40 is when the lugs on the outer half of the tire are left longer, and the inner half cut 2" shorter, making the "center" of the lugs offset on the tire.

not to steal the thread, but larry, do you know of anyone ever 60/40 in' by making one outer lug long then the next outer lug short. Doing this every other lug, so 60/40 one way then 60/40 the other way... Or do you think this wouldn't flex as good?

Never seen one like that and I agree with your thinking that alternating the lugs , it wont flex as well.

There not brand new but only have a ride or 2 on them.I cant sale them.They were $500 new,but the tires have went up a little and the dude that cuts them raised his price too.I know it sucks.Id suggest buying a new set and have KoKo cut them,i believe he is a bit cheaper than the other guy and does an insane job on them.

yea i know what you mean,i started cutting tires myself.i finally broke down and just went and bought a kick ass groover at begining of summer.nobody around here was cutting tires but i guess i am now,wether i wanted to or not.lol.wife says it has to pay for itself,ha ha ha.takes a little time to do it right and if you was saling a new set cut for 500,imo you was losing money,but hey if you was a saling then i was a buying.lol. chad

I'm new to this sport so cut me some slack here. Why would you want to cut brand new v-treads as to running them for a while and cut them after the lugs wear some. I've just cut mine since the lugs were maybe 3/4 - 1inch and rounding and changed from the terras.
I stared using a router until I burnt it up only after a few minutes, it was old. Then since I did not have a cutting tool I could not go to the cords between the lugs so, I got a nub of a wheel wheel, maybe 1/4" long wires, and simply ground off in front of the lugs approx. 1" and squared then up. I'll see how they work since this will be the first use of them since I was running the Terras before.

traction is the name of the game! buy em new and cut em up, and cutting also helps the flexing!

Let's not forget that cut tire are excelent for hillclimbing, but if your just a trailrider then there is really no need to cut tires. Just my 2 cents.
