Just my 2 cents but i would keep the side shift and convert it to a nose shift (roughly $100) and stuff it with the gears you want... thats a wide rib 6 and those are the ones to build

All you need to convert it is an intermediate housing and the nose cone.. plenty of busted trans out there for parts. Got the parts to convert the trans in my four seater off the samba
