Hey guys, I have a good 3-rib that I just cleaned up and bead blasted and now I've decided that I want a 6-rib instead! So the best possible scenario would be for me to trade the 3-rib for a good 6-rib (plus some cash). Otherwise, I'll sell it, but I can't afford to give it away, so make me a good offer! I also have a running 1600 DualPort engine for sale (with all accessories, including alt.). I'm in Louisville, KY 40229. Thanks! |

I am courious about how you went about Bead blasting the 3 rib. Was it together or did you completly dissable it and just blast the cases. Please explain. |

It was together. It was initially wire-wheeled, the blasted in the corners of the webbing mostly. I didn't blast the shaft or flanges. It's not perfect but it took off what I wanted to take off. |

Personally If this was done with Glass bead then I would not expect it to last long as high speed glass can easyly get into the trans via seals and the vent hole on the nose cone. I would at least pull the nose cone off and inspect. |

Well, sounds like a good thing to check then. I wasn't aware of such risks as I didn't notice any possible entry points, though I didn't blast anywhere near any seals, and didn't blast within the bellhousing at all. Thanks for pointing that out though. I'm not trying to hide anything. |

I know your not trying to hide anything. I just wanted you to know of the possability of that happening so you dont do it again and other guys dont try. This web site is all about sharing usefull information so we can all get an education on our hobby and learn by others mistakes. If we dont learn by our mistakes we are condemed to repeat them. I have learned the hard way more times than I care to mention. lol |

I'm asking $300. It being cleaned up a bit should offset the fact that it needs to be inspected, I hope. Thanks, Pat |
