Any body have a preferred short throw shifter I have the traditional t shifter now and every time I make a right turn my elbow smacks it lol. And it takes forever to get to second, no less trying to find third. Let me know what short throw you guys purchased and what worked best for you. Thanks.

Any particular reason? I'm just curious it seems to take me forever to get into 2nd none the less 3rd.

Bugpack is the only aftermarket shifter I've had any luck with. It takes some patience to get it right.

I have heard Gene Berg shifters are awesome but not tried one myself.
Stock shifter cut down a couple inches is the most reliable for a woods buggy.

We just cut the height down like larry says and put a adjuster in the shift rod so you can adjust length and side to side. After a couple adjustments it usually works great and the price is aint bad either!

X4... My first buggy came with a box of short throw shifters and a stock one installed.... I couldnt figure out why.... until I tried to use ANY of them. The Hummer Buggy also still rolls with a $13 stock beetle shifter. It has never let me down and the wide gates are really helpful at 2am when you are running on beer courage.... My buddy blew his trans sky high with a short throw. Grabbed hard and pulled it into second racing on the street and got reverse instead... Gotta love those tight gates...

And the adjustment coupler is a MUST if you really want to get it dialed in...

Where could I acquire one of these adjustment cupplers? I think I will keep my stock shifter in and just shorten it a couple inches. Can't wait to get my buggy back on the trails! It's only been 2 weeks but feels like a lifetime. :|

The best shifter made, without spending $$, is stock VW. To make it a short throw simply cut it down. I can do a 1-2 shift just by closing my hand.

How do you put it in reverse like that? Is there a button for it on top?

MadMike,
You should start selling those... I like the handle you added to the stock shifter. I would buy that shifter...
