The Ecotec owners are becoming a bigger and bigger group in here so I thought I would share some of the headers I've been eyeballing. (In no particular order) KARTEK Stubby Header $289 http://www.kartek.com/Product/3508/ECOTEC-Series-Header.aspx This is a heck of a deal @ $289. Its raw-steel, meaning it will need some kind of high-temp paint or protective coating ...ceramic coating is usually around $100 locally. I like its compact size & design. AlphaFab Long-Tube Header $365 http://www.alphafabindustries.com/products/afi-2-2-2-4-ecotec-off-road-long-tube-header Its raw-steel, meaning it will need some kind of high-temp paint or protective coating (NOTE: They do have a ceramic coating option for +$100). I like the performance of this header, but header design & location might interfere with the same-side piping of a rear-mount radiator. Still if you are after every single HP you can get, this is a great header. Turnkey Engine Supply $400 http://www.turnkeyenginesupply.com/ecotec-off-road-header/ Comes ceramic coated and also supplied with flange, gasket and new bolts. CBM Motorsports Header w/Muffler $479 http://store.custombuiltmotors.com/engine-external/cbm-motorsports-ecotec-header-w-muffler.html Comes ceramic coated, includes integrated muffler and an O2 bung. Perfect for off road. Appears to be a horizontal setup meaning it might interfere with some cages depending on cage location. I like this all in one unit and price is great when you consider everything that's included. eBay specials < $200 http://www.ebay.com/bhp/ecotec-header These are plentiful and most are stainless steel meaning no special coating needed. However, they are designed for a front wheel drive OEM replacement meaning you will need to do some creative tube bending for good muffler placement. Still, plenty of guys in here have gone this route and are very happy with the results. Have you found a good setup? Please share here, would love to see 'em all! Personally, I don't care about the HP as much as low noise. My Ecotec already has more HP than my trans can handle and my buggy is a family buggy, so quieter the better. |
