I have been playin with window's paint, trying to see what a one seater would look like with the cockpit moved forward a foot. This will be next winters project if I can get one to look decent. Sorry Ron and Willie for butchering your buggies, it was the only good pictures I could find of a side of a buggy. The reason for moving it forward is to make up the diffrence in w/c and a/c weight. I don't know if it will work but I am going to have to try. w/c hp is alot cheaper.

Terry, the only problem I can see you running into is the pedels. They can be mounted so they hang down as well, it might help, I'm not sure.

not a problem terry,

will this be v6 0r pinto 4 cyl. , seen a few with pinto engines their lighter & have moderate hp , some people bolt
them right on with adapter plates & don't modify nothing but the motor cage , i think the idea of forward cockpit
is very good as they tend to be off center at original position , my chasis is old style bee-line therefore i'm closer
to the torsion than willie , but my engine compartment is not as far back as his behind the tires , keep this in mind also , both our buggys equally distribute the weight from front to back , so either style frame would be good
for w/c with the cock pit moved forward , nitro is right about peddle location , could be you may have to use
hanging pedals from cnc or something similiar !! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

There are a lot of 4 bangers that don't weight so much . A Pinto motor is heaver than my v6 ,the head alone is a much as a vw. If I was gona build a wc buggy with out chains it would be like Claytons or WB south ,theres has a foward built chasis
