The "visor" is getting cut off this evening, and the font tires were the only ones I had that would fit and hold air. Looking for some used 215 or 235 AT's. Had to get it out and drive it at this point. Been working on it since November. And yes the bus front end is definately stiff. Will have to work on that. |

I use a bus front end too.. You can remove some of the leafs inside the beams and loosen it up as much as you like. It has 3 leafs in the middls that are wider and have the set screw,,outside of those are 2 on each side that can be removed. If you remove the stops and use straps the arms are easier to remove. Just take the straps off and jack the front up to let all the prestress off so the arms slide out easier. Mine has all the leafs in the bottom some leafs out of the top. |

The "visor" has been removed, and yes there are dual stacks for the exhaust. Least expensive way to do it with a v6 with 2 12" thrush mufflers, for me anyways. Need to add the O2 sensor in this weekend. Will be checking out the leaf removal in the top tube. I dont want to lose too much height in the front, but yet need to get some flex in it. Thanks for everyone posting on this site, I have learned alot in scanning the site. |

There is a formula for how much to droop,,,something like 30 percent,,or something, some of these guys know better that me,,,,measure it at full height and take out a couple then check again,,, if you take out too many you can put them back,,just round the end a little so it fits through the beam easier. Also if you ever bend an arm chances are it is the bottom arm and it is bent inside the beam,,,not the outside,, I am trying to figure out a way to strengthen this part ....I may sleeve it but then I will lose the ability to use leafs,,,I am trying to figure out a way to use air bags up front, or just use leafs in the upper beam only...with a through rod on the lower beam

Thanks all for the compliments. Alot of hard work has gone into it with more to do, as all of you know. The motor is a 2.8 V6 out of an 86 S10. Has fuel injection with 12" thrush mufflers. Still needs an O2 sensor installed in one of the stacks. After looking at all of the options, the stacks were about the best way to go and still ahve a muffler on each side. Hopefully I will be sending the pics in for the meeting/inspection with the Illinois SOS in a couple of weeks. One of my plans for this summer is to be able to come down and ride with you guys. We'll see how it goes. |

if its an 86 model it dont need an o2 sensor to make it run right,98 and above will throw a code |

It had one on it when I pulled it. It definately runs richer when there is no O2 sensor and it will throw a code. My gm system on my Scout will throw a code for a malfunctioning O2 sensor as well. Either way it does run well. Starts right up, idles really smooth about 850-900 rpm. Once everything gets hooked up and as finished as it can be, I might adjust it down to 700 or so. |
