I don’t think I have taken pictures of my newer rail yet so here ya go. I think I need to rebuild the rear engine cage, add an X brace and remove the A brace from being so close to my body. If anyone can give me some suggestions on changing the A brace let me know. I looked at DVS1 build up and might do it they way he did. What do you think? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My professional carb and front end adjusters ![]()

This has been in 2 rolls that I know of without any failure but the tubing with the red X is what I’m not sure about. Is it me or does it look scary close to the driver? Should I remove it or just leave it? This is what I was thinking, but going straight down it might be too close to the steering wheel. ![]() I think I like this better but will it be strong enough? ![]() I also think the rear cage is too narrow and was thinking of doing something like this. This is the best I could do but it would be similar to DVS1’s turbo rail. ![]() ![]()

I would not remove the "A" brace. I would not put the geeen vertical as you show. It is a strong brace however It makes it to easy for a collision with your head in a tree Impact etc. I would opt for the 45 degree bar as you show in the next picture. The Stalker frame is allready at an advantage by not being a hoop design like Plumberbills. The Stalker frame design uses a single bar from front to rear that gives you a whole lot more resistance to a roof collapse. |

Hey Hilaholic, Let me start by saying that you have a great looking buggy.. Just wondering, why are you so concerned about removing the A frame next to the driver? Is the fear that the frame may bend and the bent frame could hurt the driver? I do not have a lot of experience with the forces of rolling a buggy but I personally would not remove the A frame. It provides additional safety for the driver. An X brace is always a good idea. I really like the rear cage of DSV1.. I bent the heck out of my rear cage last weekend and I think I am going to rebuild one similar to DSV1.. |

if you guys think the A brace is in a safe position I will leave it. I just thought it was too close to the driver. |

I have a similar "A" brace on mine and dont see it as an issue. Keep in mind that my "A" brace is bent away from the cockpit. http://www.woodsbuggy.com/pics/ody/15.jpg http://www.woodsbuggy.com/pics/ody/14.jpg |

I would move it just behind the seat and run it at the same angle that the layback of the seat uses. The way it is now looks like it would be easy to bounce off of in a minor crash. It would probably just be a arm or shoulder but why hit anything you don't have to? |

I view it just the opposite. If your rolling over I would rather bounce off of it with my shoulder than have a tree or large rock come in the cock pit with me. Kinda like a side air bag lol. Food for thought. |

Can you add an "X" brace from were the existing "X" brace is now to the Torsion or lower frame with out relocating the tank? Also to confirm that you have a Stalker frame because it appears that someone modified the rear engine cage. Theway DVs is shown less the head protectors is the stock design. |

The X brace I don't know yet, I need to pull everything out to check. Yea I think Blake rolled it, smashing the rear cage and rebuilt it. It's just too narrow for me and I almost ripped a carb off last season getting tangled in some trees. |
