A.30 over 350 (3.48" stroke) is a 355 A 350 with a 400 crank (3.75" stroke) is a 377. a 350 .30 over with a 400 crank is a 383. (torque monster, like a 400, but can be built to go upstairs cheaper than a 400) Larry |

(torque monster, like a 400, but can be built to go upstairs cheaper than a 400) Larry Ummm, not really. A 400 (4.125" bore) with a 350 (3.48") crank is 372 ci. A .030 over 400 block with a 350 crank does equal out to 377ci, but I cant imagine why someone would want to use the inferior cooling of the steam ported 400 block and then take away its torque by reducing the stroke, unless it was for some odd application. de stroked 400s are awsome the tourqe of a big block with the wind of a small block 450 plus h/p an tourque the thing will hit the rev limiter with a blip of the throttle boom! use 6" rods aluminum heads and roller valve train and make sure it can breath the only problem with the combo is its drives you not the other way around you are constantly backing out stead of allways pushing for more |
