Like I told Tanners buddy, he can give me a call, but I'll be honest I'm pretty pissed at this point. When someone calls me and purposely lies to me about being his dad, that makes me question his motive. How do you know he is right and I am wrong? I'm not sure at this point. I know he is only 16, but come on. Where were all of his buddies when he was buying it? If he wasn't sure about what he was loking at he should have had someone come with him to look at it. Not buy it, take it 10 hours away, and then complain on the internet without calling or e-mailing the person he bought it from. If Tanner has a problem he needs to call me. I'm not positive, but I believe I even sent him a picture of the CV and trailing arm before he bought it. I sent it to someone, not sure if it was him.

One of his buddies was right here, PM and Emailing you at least three times trying to see if you would mind if I came to your place and checked the buggy out for him. I got one response, at least a week after my first pm, saying you thought you had a buyer, but would email me if it didnt work out. I replied with saying I know the buyer and he wants me to look at it for him. You never responded to it, so I figured you didnt want me to look at it.
I have sold things I knew little about also. I always let people know I dont know what this or that is if I am not 100% sure. It is not wise to tell someone any car has certain parts if you dont have a clue yourself. Even if it is not your fault due to lack of knowledge, you are still misleading the one who buys from you. If you dont see a stop sign and run it, you still get a ticket if a cop sees you. Same principal.

As long as Tanner is happy with it, then thats all that really matters. I would feel bad over it myself. Everyone is different.

I do feel bad aout the whole situation. I am not a big internet person. I don't get on it every night. When I posted the ad I put an e-mail address that I checked alot, but you sent me a pm. Before this happened I didn't know what a pm was. I don't post or answer posts, most of the time I just read. Tanner sent me an e-mail and got my phone number. After that he burnt my phone up. Tanner has read this post, I saw his name at the bottom of the screen last night. He is obviously ok with his situation or he would have replied or called me. I'm not trying to make an excuse but all of Tanners pals keep trying to call me out. They have sent me e-mails, but Tanner hasen't. I feel like I have to check this site and defend myself or quit it all together. You don't know me and we have never talked, but you seem ok telling me how I should feel. I'm not sure what you would like me to do? I explained my side, I'm sorry it happened. I'll be out of town this weekend, so don't get upset if I don't reply right away.

There is an old saying in the used car sales arena and I am sure it applys to every thing that is bought used. "BUYER BEWARE" There is no excuse for Ignorance. If you you dont know what your buying then you should get some one that does to help you. If you dont is that the sellers fault or is the buyers? Relying on what a seller tells you is to be taken with a grain of salt and backed up with your knowledge of the product no more no less. I agree with Dean, work with what you have and move on!

Whatever you think would make it right for Tanner. A kid with dedication (rare quality among adults, much less a teen), who works hard and saved for a long time with hopes of buying a complete buggy that would not need any major expensive upgrades for a while. We all have our opinion on what would be fair, but that is irrelevant. Its up to you.

Like Curt said , it is between you and him and his dad . The rest of us can only form our own opinions based on whatever you all settle on, and you may or may not even give a damn about any of our opinions. Not to sound like I'm telling you how to feel again, but you may just want to keep in mind that there is a very good chance that any buggy or parts transaction in this arena will be influenced by someone from this site, whether asking another persons opinion of something, or whatever. Just compare this to those feedback ratings on Ebay. You take care of your customer, they let others know about it, and you will sell your next item that much easier and faster. Dont take care of your customer and it goes the other way.

For most of us, buggying is about the people first, and the cars second.
