How do I remove the rear spring plates and torsion bars?

first you need to relieve the tension in the bars. I assume you have removed your trailing arms and the four bolt caps on the end of your torsion, with the ass end of the buggy on jackstands?
Put a floor jack (with a small piece of 2x4 or 4x4 on top of it) under the end of the spring plate. Put a chain or 3" rachet strap under the florr jacl and wrap it up around a bar on the buggy directly above the spring plate andhook the chain or strap back to itself, making a big loop out of it. Jack the floor jack up. The buggy should stop raising after a pump or two and the spring plate keep raising. When the spring plate lifts off its stop, Take a sledge hammer and knock the spring plate outward until it clears the stop, then let the jack down EASY. Should be able to smack the spring plate on out of the torsion then.

Thanks for the help. That was the first time I attempted that, and it worked perfectly. Instead of beating it with a sledge I used a pry bar w/ a flat end and just pushed on it a little while I let the jack down. Thank again for your help.
