Post subject:  Replacing Balljoints

I pressed a ball joint in today and it would not move. Pressed back out, was I supposed to remove rubber and press on the wide part under rubber???? I put a socket over rubber onto the flat spacer rind above the splines and pressed it on before,That is what i thought i need to press on must haVE BEen wrong?? Help please Dont like to waist money on mistakes thanks pettigo.

u must be workin on top bj,yea remove rubber then heat the arm a little,keep bj in frezer a couple hrs and they will fall in

Removing the rubber is the way to do it. Chris advice also works great. One thing to watch for is over sized ball joints. They are not as popular as before but often were sold as standard ball joints and were to wide to press in a standardard size hole.
