May sounds a silly question but I've always put the bars back in the same way and never really took much notice - but will a spring plate fit on either end of a rear torsion bar or are they handed with a different spline on the inner?

Thinking about using one to make and anti-roll bar with a spring plate on either end.

Different number of splines on each end of bar.

It's still a good idea,,,you could remove the splined section from a torsion tube and graft (weld) it into a spring plate. I have done similar by using a hole saw to remove the splined section from spring plates to graft into the short spring plates when using large tires.

You can buy the center spline section, can't remember where right now.
