I found this pic in Kyle's buggy build & he references Dean. My Stalker came with a set of these 2x3's & I plan to use em on my 4 seater but they seem kinda flimsy. Are they Deans & will they take abuse?

I have seen these arms on several different buggies and they will take the beating. Dean's buggy that I know of ran them for a long time on his single seater. |

The main reason I brought up the flimsy issue is because I have 3x3 Appletrees & a set of 3x3 Latest Rage arms & both of these have been called weak. By comparison the deans are puny.  Heres the Appletree arms.  Heres the Latest Rage. The 4 seater wont take nearly the pounding of my other buggies but I dont want my girl breaking it on the trail either. Im glad to know they will take the abuse. |

Have you compared the weight?? By comparison the appletrees and latest rage are the puny ones. Deans arms are tuff. |

I wish they were 3x3 since all my 930 axles are 19 1/4" & Id leave them in there. Problem is I break bus joints nearly as easy as car joints & I need the strength, hence the swap. |

My 930 axles were 19 1/4 when I got them. I run 2x3s. Just cut them off where the circlip goes on each end, then grind a groove around the top end with a 1/32 abrasive wheel to put the clip back into. Dont need bottom clip anyways. Sounds kinda butcher but it has worked for 4 yrs or so, same axles and only one broke joint  .

The Appletree arms is what I am running and they are tough, I have been through just about any terrain out there easy or hard and they will take the beating, never had any problems with mine and I rolled my buggy twice and landed on all 4 wheels pretty hard and still rolling good. |

This is a no cost way of upgrading that rail to better stuff. |

I had a pair that Jim's VW used to build in the purple buggy & they were very similar to the Appletrees. I put a beating on those including a 40+ foot drop off the razor of a dune & they took it all. I tore the holes in a pair of SAW spring plates on that one but the arms never had an issue. I guess until I break a set Ill give em hell. |

i think i have the first pair dean ever built on my buggy... they have been rolled twice by me. One may be a little tweaked, but i also barrel rolled through the air down a fairly tall hill 6 times soooo, you do the math. lol. |

i must be hard on things!!! cause i borrowed a buddys buggy and bent both arms on it. and they were deans .he did fix one of them though. |

I had a root run up in my wheel and spin me around in the trail and bent my 2x3 appletree arm . I put it in a press and straightened it and boxed them on the end between the spring plate mount and the bearing carrier . I would say the 3x3 would have bent easier just because the extra length in the same area that I boxed in |
