they are easy to change out.there is a detailed drawing posted on here somewhere.but just take take your stub axle out and take the backing plate cover and seal cover off and the outer bearing has a flaoting center bearing pull the center piece out of the race and the spacer out of the housing.then on the inside take the seal out and you will find a snap ring take it out and then go back to the outside bearing and stick your finger inside agianst the bearing you will find some small slots that you can use to stick something agianst the inside of the bearings and tap them out.i dont have a bunch of fancy pullers or anything so i just take i long 1/4 extension and tap them out myself.i take the inside out first.you can buy these at advance or any other parts store but if you have a bearing shop or mining shop aroung you can get these a whole lot cheaper there.but at the local buggy shop here 80 bucks will get you everything you need to do both swing arms |

Dont mean to rain on your parade, but you either got a smokin deal on some bearings, or they are sending you some junkass bearings (most likely). It usually costs over $100 to get all 4 decent rear bearings. I've tried those cheaper ones twice. They dont last on the street, much less offroading. Hopefully your luck will be better than mine with them. |

Sorry took so long, have overlooked the thread somehow. Should be able to any at any of our advertisers' shops. Just specify you want the good bearings. |

You can get Timken bearings from Autozone, I got mine for a '80 Vanagon bus, I think they are the best you can buy, other than that....SKF make good ones too, Timken is either made in Japan or USA and SKF is made in France, I'd rather by them made anywhere else besides China, they are JUNK bearings and you will get what you pay for too. |

Cup and Cone bearings like we use in our buggies are most usually made in USA. Timken are the best in my opinion, but my new employer is in cohoots with INA and FAG bearings, so i may switch to one of them. Through the testing i did at Timken on bearings, Timken, SKF, INA, FAG are all excellent choices. Avoid any off brand bearings, for they are junk. IMO |
