what size tubing should i use to brace the front of my buggy from the windshield down to just before the beam? ive seen people use 1 1/2", 1 1/4", and 1" and was wondering if one was better than the other? (besides the obvious bigger=heavier and smaller=lighter weight issue) is one more likely to break at the welds than the other due to frame flex or anything .....pros and cons please? |

The only part you need to pay attention to is the front cross bar. That is where most seem to have problems with cracking. Don't put the two tubes too close together in the middle, it reduces the strain in one point and it reduces the heat soak caused by welding. As far as size the larger the diameter the more rigid the tube. |

Same size as the hoop make it an x brace. Take a look at my rail. Since adding the x hoop and front bracing to the beam mounts I have not broken any tubes and the rail likes to play hard.
