Where I need to mount is 20.5 at full droop. And the axels slide fine at that point. So I don't wanna shorten it that much. |

If its 20.5" at full droop you should take about an inch away. Are you planning on running any adjustable clevises? they will allow you to "dial it in" |

for one, the 20" will almost be gauranteed to stretch some, so i say you'd be good with those from gary. two, make adjustable clevises, i think i have under 7 dollars in mine... go get two big eyebolts from the hardware store (mine are even cheap grade 3 i think), take a saw zaw blade, and cut right where the eye is split from threaded side, this will give you just enough room to slide in the strap end, then weld that slot back up that you cut, run one nut on the bottom and double nut or nylock the top and walah you have cheap adjustable clevises that will last (i've been running them sincce june 08...) |

Me being cheap, I use 1/4 chain ran through an english bicycle tube, so it doesn't rattle. It's adjustable using 6" section of threaded rod welded to the chain, that is ran through a small piece of tubing welded to the frame, it's been that way for 9 yrs. |

Take a look at these adjusters. They are basically what the high dollar units are.: http://www.mcmaster.com/#clevises/=5n7jic |
