Because when you buy them and the wife sees the price you will get a combo "emergency protective order/divorce papers". Why would you want them? Because it is cheaper to get a hooker once a week than to have a wife. |

They are called Combo Spindels because the King pin also is the Link Pin mount in one package. The Combo spindel Typicaly uses an 1 1/2" king pin were the VW setup is only 19mm (dont remember exactly). There is quite a difference in strengh and Bushing (or roller bearing) contact surface to decreace the time between rebuilds. Hands down a beetter Mouse trap. If I was to do it over I would have bought Fodril Combo spindels with the roller bearing instead of the Tweeds design with Bronze alloy bushings. |

All the combo spindels that I am aware of use the balljoint brake backing plate pattern. They run larger bearings however you can machine a king pin drum to accept them and use a ball joint backing plate. Ball joint drums do not have enough material to machine out to house the inner bearing. |

I have no experience with them, but as far as rotors or drums went, I don't think it maters. It depends on the bearing kit to make one or the other work, as combo spindles also have a larger spindle diameter to reduce chance of bending or breaking. As far as I know, but that is very little.lol. |
