Post subject:  New 4 seater Frame?
Well with the baby on the way, I've got the wife talked into possibly shopping for a new frame to start building. Obviously I won't need the extra seats for some time but it will allow me to take it slow to build it right and not rush anything (I hope). So what I'm pondering is what kind of frame. I was leaning towards some of the belines in the 105+/-" to try and keep it a bit smaller to tote through the woods. So whos running a four seater, what frame, and pros, cons?

I've always be partial to the Sandfox 4 seater by Berrien.
Have sold several. Lot's of room and look good too.

i have the berrien 4105 which is a 105" i think the sandfox is the same except for the sides are taller. i got the 4105 so that i could use berrien fiberglass sides and hood

pic #1 is before wellsville, pic #2 is after. the mud is so crosive that it completely ate the fiberglass sides and top. :lol:

I always liked the looks of the pick up option.
Is it harder to work on with that?
Leaning in over the top would be a bitch for a short guy it appears...... :)

the hinged platform makes access easy. i think it also makes the buggy look shorter in length.(the pick-up option)

I'VE GOT A 120" wheelbase not sure the what the frame is. It does turn wider in the turns but going up hills i can't complane. But It does handle good on the street though.

I'm new here, but have been on Shoptalk for a little while. I've saved my nickles and dimes all summer and now it is time to get this thing mobile. (Or at least to the point that all I need is a motor) The wheelbase is about 118". I want to go 2x3 rear with bus axles and from what I have read here, Vanagon tranny. Any better ideas?

I live in Wv, mining roads and right-of-ways are mostly what I have to ride on, with some tight trails here and there. I'm really interested in that vanagon tranny conversion, what years to look for, shifters, tranny mounts? What can I expect to pay for one? I'm going to go buy 4 seats, wheels and tires, pedal assembly, gas tank in a day or two. I also have to scrounge up some bus axles and c/vs, stub axles too, that stuff is kinda scarce around here. Any recomendations on where to get reasonable 2x3 arms?
