Would anyone know what the part # is for a rotor on a BJ beam ?I got a set of rotors with the # 113407075 and they say they are for a BJ,but they will not accept my bearings or work on my spindles.

Maybe someone changed out the bearings to use on a link pin beam.

There are 2 different ball joint spindles, I think they all take the same rotors but there are two differnt size bearings. I made this mistake on my buggy trailer that I run BJ spindles.

Thats what i was thinking,because the part # says for 66-74 ball joint but the bearings are totally different for the rotors i got.Thanks for the help guys.

are you using wide five or four lug they are two different bearing

They are 4 lug rotors,which i thought since i had a 4 lug hub and wheels they would work,but my bearings are not even close to working in the new rotors.My bearings have a taper to them and the rotors look like they take a more straighter around bearing,unless my bearings outside ring is stuck in the hub,but the dust cover wont fit either,it is to big.

are the rotors new or used if new you will need to bearing races in if not you may need to change races about the dust caps i have no idea

the races and bearing out of your old drums should fit in the new rotors should have came with new dust caps just knot out the races a see if they fit if not call were you got the rotos and see if they are bug or some other vw still rotor

I thought the races were stuck in the hubs,i tried to beat them out with a screwdriver,but they wont come out,so i'll try to find new ones.They are Latest Rage rotors,which a buddy got with a buggy he bought and we looked up the # and they said BJ,but like you said there must be 2 different type of BJ bearings out there,new 1 on me.Appreciate the info Redrail.

This is an answer to the same question I had 3+years ago.

I did the king pin spindle to ball-joint spindle conversion from
: Blind Chicken Racing. I ordered a disc brake kit that came with
: bearings. Before I put the bearing race into the rotor I tried

Ball joint spindles come in small (early) and large (later). The ODs are the same so you just need to get bearings and seals for a 66 bug. It can be easy IF you know exactly what you are dealing with!

Early BJ has a smaller inner bearing, should measure about 1.065" or close to it.
Part #311 405 625C
Seal #131 405 641A

Late ball joint has a larger inner bearing, should measure around 1.125" or so.
Part #311 405 645C
Seal #111 405 641B

Outer bearings are the same for both.

Early BJ spindles use KP tie rod ends.
Late BJ uses the regular BJ tie rod end.

Early is BJ up to about mid '68
Late is mid '68 and later.

That rotor fits BJ Beetles, some T-3 and Karmann Ghias.
The bearing will depend on the spindle you have.
Need to measure it where the inner bearing rides and determine if it's early or late.
Measure both sides as I have seen buggies that have both versions on them........... :wink:

Dust caps should all be the same.
Part # 111 405 692B
They don't have the square hole in them anymore.
If you use a cable speedo you will have to make the LF square hole yourself.
