I am constructing my own trailing arms, they should be 4 longer and 4 wider. what is the correct way to measure for the length of the axle. i was told to put the arm paralle with the transmission flange and measure the distance in between the two flanges and add one inch. does this sound right?

measure from the center of the tranny flange to the center of the stub with them level to one another and subtract 1/4 inch. Mock it up first and see if there is an axle on the shelf because special order axles are very costly. 8) and oh yea,,,make sure the tranny is center first :?
