I run a complete bus suspension. They dont have car type trailing arms.But we have figured out away to set back my axel.It will be out 1/2 inch back 4 inches. Will stock bus axel with bus cvs on both ends work? Is that to much angle? I can change the 4 inches setback to what ever, but I AM pretty much commited on the 1/2 out. Thank you for any advise! |

That doesn't sound right. I think you will have to go with longer axels. Normally to go back you will have to go out almost as much. |

Remember Dean, the bus torsion is already wider. How much might be a clue as to how far back you can go. It will require longer axle shafts.To get a cheap axle you might check Blind Chicken Racing site. Something about automatic bus being longer on one side. Good Info. Some after market shafts are fairly reasonable. If you can find early 80 cvs from porsche 924, 944 (type 4) they turn nearly as much as 930,,blind chicken also

I run bus totion ,also. they are 4.75" wider than bug. I know of several that have the same set up and have added two inches to spring plates and arm. Do not go any longer---stock length will work to this degree. |

vanagan axel's one is longer on automatic .I just threw away a set of 3 by 4 arms they used the long vanagan sorry |

I know it's wider. I thought he was going to do all that and use the same axle. I have never messed with bus torsions but 1/2 out and 4 back sonds like things will get in a bind. |

I was just talking about how far back he could go with the right axle shafts. I think he could go back 4 inches if he had longer shafts without binding the cv's
