| Post subject: | Micro Stubs |
Has anyone tried to make your own micro stub trailing arms and hubs?, if so, what type of hubs did you use, and what kind of stub axle did you use? I blow out a lot of stock bearings and, i have been wanting something stronger, so i was thinking of building my own micro stubs, probley going with 3x3 or 3x4 trailing arms and maybe using front hubs from a half ton or 3/4 ton Chevy truck. any input would be apreciated. |

Have not run up on this one yet I don't know ask Dean about it he knows trailing arms |

i just got a set of micro-stubs the other day. they look pretty stout and come with everything you need (except the arms). |

What brand of micro stubs did you get? when you say they look stout, what would you compair the hubs to? half ton chevy, S10 chevy, or a normal car hub? what im trying to do is make my own. and i was thinking maybe half ton hubs. and i will take the CV shaft from the truck, and pull it apart, and using the stub, after i machine it down and drill and tap it, to fit the bus CV. |

i got the empi "race trim" micro stubs, and a buddy told me that the bearings look the same as his 3/4 ton chevy. you can also buy all the parts seperatly from empi or any one else that makes one. it looks like most of the parts are interchengeable |

I started making my own. I went to the junk yard and picked up a front axle from a half ton Chevy. I took it apart, and used the stub, then I machined the cup off of it, and drilled and tapped it for a bus cv. It looks like it's going to work, so I went and bought some half ton hubs. And now I'm in the process of making trailing arms. I'll let you know how it works. |
