Post subject:  Help please with suspension setup .

I'm currently building a packrat 4 seater and having trouble with weight distribution. I currently have little weight on passger front tire . Setup is Ecotec ,2x3 trailing arms ,2.5 airshocks in rear ,2" airshocks on front .Beam is standard ball joint with Thing front spindles. I can easily pick front pass side up but not the drivers side . I can push down on rear of drivers side cage and lift passenger front of ground . Much like a Teater Totter. But you can't do the same with drivers side . I have played with oil levels and Air pressure in rear shocks with no positive effect on problem . Everything is centered in car and shocks are balanced the same so I'm at a loss here . By bathroom scale I show 60lbs on passger front and 180 on drivers side front ? Rear I do not have the numbers scale dosent go high enough. I know my description is vague any ideals ? Thanks in advance .

make sure your driver side front suspension works, ball joins, arm bushings ect..

Race Bug
Everything in front seems to be working and free . All new Ball joints . Indexed correctly Threw Rods replaced torsion springs . I can cycle it threw it's range of motion with no problems.

Are the rear shocks mounted in the same position on each side of the frame and on the trailing arms?? Could the frame be bent? Or built twisted?? If all of this is good try swapping rear shocks then front shocks, if that doesn't do it try running less air in drivers front and pass rear. Are you using a no- loss valve?

like Mike said, try swapping front shocks then rear shocks. Is the frame new? I have seen some big weight differences side to side on the scales before, usually due to bound up suspension or mis-charged shocks. Make sure you don't have a cooler full of beer in the passenger seat too!

Never thought about the Beer causing the problem  ..
This is a new frame that I built ,No bends or twist . I am using a No loss air chuck .
Shock locations are Close to same locations (Best I can Tell) .Has me puzzled to say the least .
I have switched the rear Shocks side to side with same result. Tonight im going to take them out of equation ,Replace with a stiff leg and see if the result is the same. Thanks for any advise. I believe it has to be in the shocks but ive been all over the board on setting with no positive results.

If you can push down on the rear and pick up the passenger front then I'd say you've got too much spring preload on the drivers side front and the passenger side rear - it's basically balancing on a line connecting them.

This may be a dumb question but did you remove the rear torsion bars ? Some people run both.
