Most front ends are designed to use a 10" stroke shock so that should be the first thing to think of. Next how similar is your front end weight as compared to a side by side? What works on a SxS probably won't work so well on a buggy. Kinda like putting a street car steering on a buggy, they'll work, for about 20 min.

A 4 seater Rzr 1000 weighs 1500 pound. My buggy will be around that when done. The front shocks are 16 inch travel

there is no way they are 16" stroke shocks. 10" would be huge on a rzr. They may be 8". not sure why you would go this route. just buy some 10" stroke 2" fox or sway away coil-overs.

On the Polaris website they list 16" travel for the shocks.

Since I'm building my ecotech I'll Chime in here...
most razors are featuring fox shocks.
Which you can get at about the same price as stock rzr shocks which suck btw!
THE Nicest Set Of shocks that I have seen on a rzr are the walker evans...

Yes they are a little pricey but the make for a good ride on a razor.. however I would not take them off a razor for obvious reasons.. buggies are not rzrs

But I do like there rideablity.. LUCKILY they make more then shocks for razors believe it or not!

I called them yesterday for a quote they have all sorts of types of shocks.
All the way up to 18 inchs of travel. They have a website to. I told the representative guy whom I was talking too that I was using this on a rail buggy and he asked all the perameters of what I wanted.
and he told me he had plenty of options for what I wanted.

Of course they aren't as cheap as fox shocks but they are 100% American made.

Probably just going to go with fox shocks for now because this build is getting expensive so I'm going to take the not so cheap but not to expensive route.

the rzr may have 16" of travel, but may only have a 8" stroke shock. your confusing the words travel and stroke.

Ok. the rear shocks on a Rzr would probably have a 10" stroke since they have a 18" travel then

I love them. My front are 8" stroke and I believe I have about 17" of travel. I have around $600 in the 4 walker evens "take offs" coilovers on my buggy. I did have too change rear spring rate.

Plenty of racers with 2200-2400lb buggies over here running the SXS shocks from walker evans and fox - they're better made, more adjustable and lighter than the normal versions.

Everybody seems to think they won't last. For trail riding and occasional hillclimb I think they would work
