i got a new project coming up this winter and im trying to decide on front susspension.i have got to buggys running trailing arms with loose king pins and sloppy bearings in the front tubes.i tried the bushings in the tubes and really dont care for them. thinking about a arm frontend and would like to get some feedback from people that has gone that way.as alot of you know we turn over alot and i dont know if the a arms will take the side impacts.i was thinking of using uniballs instead of heims at the spindle.Thanks in advance !!!

I never ran a arms but they are taking over in dessert racing . Looks like replacing an a arm vs. a bent beam would be easier . I have seen several running around east TN

I think I can to.im gonna try one more twist I think im gonna try airbags on the front .it might not work the first time but with a lil patience I think it will.love`m on the back!!! packrat if you can put up some more pics it would be greatly appreciated !!!

I like the air bag on the front idea . I saw pics at one time somewere the bags were laying horizontal with linkage going to them .

yes that is a nice setup.i wonder which is the best on the inside pivot points, heim or bushing style? Has anybody angled the arms up in the front kinda like a racing 4 whlr to absorb the bumps better?

Yes, Curt changed the a arm platform to help the arms take the bumps better. The arm moves up and to the rear slightly. A straight a arm would be a little rough on the bumps.
To do a a arm set up you really need to understand steering geometry like caster, camber, scrub radius, bump steer and ackermen steering. If not it will be a nightmare to control.
Heims would be the best just for the adjustability aspect.

yes after posting this i got on race dezert and started looking around.i knew there was alot of geometry but now i know there is ALOT to it!!! well its time to start reading, along with alot of trial and error on the bench this winter.
