Post subject:  combo spindle qeustions.
1) Are combo spindles built using a ball jt spindle?
2) If so are there bearings that allow me to retain my link pin spindle brakes?
3) Do combo spindles and or longer arms require different link pins?
4) I know that the latest rage and race trim combo spindles are not nearly as good as a tweeds or fodrill but certainly better than stock crap correct?

I,m on a crappy budget but my stock stuff is beyond fixing. I have one link pin bushing that spins in the knuckle for example. :shock: My current knuckle and spindles need scrapped! As i,m looking at replacement parts i can buy the cheaper combo spinles for a little bit more than all new stock stuff. Any input is greatly appreciated.

a couple of the guys we ride with are running the tweeds and they appear to be holding up especially now that tweed is using torrington (needle) bearings for the king pin. (as opposed to a bronze friction bearing) I run the fodrill but if thats not in your budget I would look at tweeds. either way combo spindles are way better then stock.

combo spindles use a different set of bearings (inner for sure). ball joint brakes won't fit. king pin brakes will fit. if you get into the high dollar arms and spindles, they will take a larger link pin, but that depends on your arm. i believe all combo spindles will take stock size link pins. I am not a fan at all of tweeds spindles. had em, broke em, sold em. woods and foddrills are the best, but I wouldnt knock the cast cheapies that fast. I race with a guy who runs them and had no issues out of them at all. for the price, might be just what you need.
